Not financial advice

Trade Thesis is a record-keeping and research tool. Nothing in the product is financial, investment, or tax advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation to buy or sell any security.

The platform records and organises your own reasoning. It does not evaluate whether that reasoning is sound. Investment decisions, and their consequences, are yours. If you need advice, speak to someone licensed to give it.

Tax calculations are estimates

The CGT (Capital Gains Tax) calculator applies standard Australian rules — including FIFO (First In, First Out) parcel matching and the 50% discount — to the data you provide. Its output is an estimate to support your planning, not a tax return and not tax advice.

It depends entirely on the accuracy of the trade data you import and the marginal rate you set. It does not know about your other income, capital losses carried forward, or any circumstances specific to you. Confirm anything that matters with a registered tax agent.

Beta status

Trade Thesis is in active development and currently free to use. Features may change or be removed, and the product may be unavailable at times. Keep your own records of anything you cannot afford to lose — do not treat the platform as your only copy of your trading history.

Pricing will be introduced in future. Existing users will be told before that happens.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for the content you put into the platform. Do not use Trade Thesis to store anything unlawful, and do not attempt to access other users' data or disrupt the service.

Market data

Where the platform displays values derived from market data, that data is sourced from third-party providers, is end-of-day rather than live, and may be delayed or incorrect. Do not rely on it for time-sensitive decisions. Check prices with your broker before trading.

Availability and liability

The service is provided as-is, without warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent permitted by law, Trade Thesis is not liable for investment losses, tax outcomes, or other damages arising from your use of it.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes

These terms will be updated as the product develops. The date at the top reflects the last update. Continuing to use Trade Thesis after a change means accepting the updated terms.
